As corporate citizens of the community, we owe wider responsibilities to our people, environment and the community around us. Keeping in line with our core values, it is important to us that we put our money where our mouth is, which involves us putting our “heart” in everything that we do, more so when we know that we can be a blessing to others. We believe our motives underpinning our charitable efforts are genuine to match a real need and transcend mere short term “feel good” factors. This can only be made possible by our talented and altruistic people who want to make a difference, not just at law but also to contribute to the common good in the society.

Whether is it spending a day at the community hospital and interacting with the elderly patients, fund raising for disaster relief in Japan or Thailand or our lawyers contributing their legal expertise to the needy through our pro-bono schemes, we give freely and believe that every little bit we do helps when it comes to doing good works.

Apart from TJCLC’s CSR contributions, our people are also actively involved in their individual charitable activities. Tan Cheow Hung, who heads our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, is a volunteer under the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS) and has represented clients charged with criminal offences on a pro-bono basis.

What is most important at the end of the day is that it comes from our heart. Just as TJCLC has grown throughout the years, so has its service and contributions in the community.
